How can we bring that gospel to bear on our lives

Last week. Go Man Christ Response – Is 6 – Isaiah finds himself in the presence of God.  Isaiah is undone.  Angel takes a coal from the alter and sears his lips & says his guilt has been removed.

God is Holy, man is sinful, Christ comes and pays the penalty for it

How can we bring that gospel to bear on our lives
Know the gospel, bring the gospel, …, …,

Sin in our hearts, sin our lives is ultimately a result of an unbelief in the Gospel.

☆ John 16:9 “6But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. 7Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. 8And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: 9concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; 10concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; 11concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
If the gospel is the point at which, when lost, sin is at work – that means that the Gospel is practical for application in every situation at every part of the Christian walk, beginning to end.

☆ Eph 4:11-16″11And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherdsb and teachers,c 12to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,d to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
The church builds itself up through gospel community.

Acts 10:7-19 Peter hadn’t yet realized the fullness of the Gospel. Side note: I’m interested by the concept that Peter and his disciples didn’t understand why or what God was doing, but they went with it because it was evident that God was in it.  How can I apply this?

Are there people in your life where you have allowed them to confront you and say “You aren’t practicing the truth of the Gospel in this area of your life” In this area of your life. In this area of your life (I said it three times because I want it to set in.)

Are you practicing the gospel in this area in your life? The point is; there may be areas in your life where you have left the gospel out.  You don’t have a full realization of the Gospel in your life and God wills to fully expose it as he brings you to perfect completion (sanctification).

You can I identify when the gospel is incomplete when you are wanting the gospel + something else.  Like the gospel is not enough.

We finished with practicing confessing to each other areas that where we sometimes don’t beleive the power of the Gospel.
