Gospel Milk/Meat Reference

Reference for Milk vs Meat terminology. This terminology comes from the scripture. The bible uses the term “milk” to refer to the “elementary” things of the gospel, and the meat to refer to the more mature, deeper things of the gospel.

* 1 Corinthians 3:2

* Hebrews 6:1

* 1 Peter 2:2

* Hebrews 5:12 – This verse exhorts that the mature Christians should be leading the immature so that the immature might become mature and they can lead as well.

* Hebrews 5:14 – Like verse 12, this verse also exhorts the spiritually mature saying that they should be able to tell the differnce between right and wrong

* Galatians 4:3 – In contrast to Hebrews 5:14 (above) this verse reminds us that the spiritually immature have weak consciences and can’t tell the difference between right and wrong.
